Working at the Fair
How can I get a job at the State Fair?
The N.C. Division of Employment Security handles applications for jobs at the N.C. State Fair. The DES generally fills between 200 and 400 jobs each year. Wages range from minimum wage to $12 an hour for jobs requiring specific skills, such as assembling or breaking down the rides. To be considered for a position, please pay attention to the following steps as the process has changed:
- Complete on online registration through the Department of Commerce at www.ncjobconnector.com. All information must be complete, including employment history.
- After you have completed your registration, you may complete a State Fair employment application and return it to your local employment services office. Contact the N.C. Department of Commerce at 919-212-2849 or your local employment services office for the application. If you turn in a State Fair application before completing the online registration, your application will NOT be accepted.

I would like to be a vendor at the State Fair. Can I get a space?
There is a very low turnover for commercial space at the N.C. State Fair. We do look for unique products and services to add to the quality vendors already at the fair. The deadline for applications was July 1. The Fair is no longer accepting applications for vendors.
How can I be an entertainer at the State Fair?
The entertainment for the 2012 State Fair has been finalized. To be considered for 2013, please send promotional materials in December to:
