New in 2017! FREE Reedy Creek Parking w/FREE Shuttle!

The N.C. State Fair has a NEW parking lot at the corner of Edwards Mill and Reedy Creek! With quick access to I-40 via Wade Avenue, this is the easiest lot to access as you make your way to the Fair!


We will also provide FREE shuttles! You'll be dropped off just across from Gate 8 on Trinity Road, and pick up will occur at the same location. Shuttles will run continuously. Drop off and pick up will be at Gate B Carter Finley Stadium. Amenities on site will include a covered waiting area, portable restroom facilities and drink machines.

 

Signage off Wade Avenue will direct you to the lot, and make sure you look for our mobile billboards...you can't miss them!

Thursday, Oct. 12: 2 p.m.- 1 a.m.

Friday, Oct. 13 - Sunday, Oct. 22: 8 a.m. until one hour after gates close

 

Get to the Fair - Parking

Free parking is available on State Fair, Carter-Finley Football Stadium and PNC Arena properties.

 

Fairgoers are encouraged to take Wade Avenue to the Edwards Mill Extension to park in these lots. There may be exceptions if events are scheduled at Carter-Finley or PNC Arena.

Recreational vehicles are not allowed to remain in the parking spaces managed by the State Fair between the hours of midnight and 8 a.m.

Neighboring Private Lots: During the Fair, neighboring residents frequently convert parts of their property to small parking lots.This is not controlled by the State Fair.

 

Get to the Fair - Park and Ride

Skip the parking hassle, and take advantage of our convenient Triangle-area Park and Ride options.

 

Park and Ride buses will drop you off at Gate 1 on Hillsborough Street, the perfect starting point for your fun-filled day. When you are ready to leave, just head back to the Gate 1 transit zone to head back to your car. Make note of the last pick-up of the night!

Shuttle Service begins at 3 p.m. on Opening Day, Thurs., Oct. 12th, and runs through Sun., Oct. 22. Buses depart hourly from the Durham Station.

  • Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

There is very limited, free on-street parking near Durham Station.

 

How much does it cost?

The State Fair Shuttle uses a special pass that contains a round-trip (2 rides). State Fair Shuttle Passes may be purchased at Durham Station or on the State Fair Shuttle. You may also pay a cash fare. Exact change required.

  • Discounted Fare (for those eligible for reduced fare) - $2.50

Get to the Fair - Take the Train

For a real adventure, visit via North Carolina's AMTRAK with our special stop right in front of the North Carolina State Fair Oct. 13-22. The train stop is located just outside Gate 1 at the corner or Hillsborough St. and Blue Ridge Rd.

 

Getting to the N.C. State Fair

Simply take the morning Carolinian 80 train that departs Charlotte at 7 a.m. The train stops in Kannapolis, Salisbury, High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Durham and Cary before reaching the State Fairgrounds at 10:25 a.m.

 

Departing the N.C. State Fair

To get home, take the return train Carolinian 79 departing the State Fairgrounds at 5:16 p.m. with stops in Cary, Durham, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Salisbury and Kannapolis, arriving in Charlotte at 8:44 p.m.

 

The special train stop is wheelchair accessible.
