The Flea Market will be open during Winter months from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Each weekend, the Commercial and Education buildings and the outside grounds are host to hundreds of dealers, craftsmen, and booths.

MESSAGE FROM North Carolina Triangle Area Chinese American Society: The TACAS Board has decided, in the spirit of caution, to cancel the Chinese New Year Festival on Feb. 1 at the NC State Fairgrounds, celebrating the Year of the Rat. The TACAS Board is respectful of potential health concerns expressed by performers, vendors, and members of the general public, and look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021 when we celebrate the Year of the Ox on Saturday - January 30, 2021. Ticket refunds for the 2020 festival should be requested from the original outlet of purchase and requests will be honored through February 15, 2020. Refunds will include only the ticket price and not transaction fees for electronic tickets. Thank you for your support and understanding. We wish you and your families a healthy, happy and prosperous Year of the Rat, and look forward to seeing you next year!

On Wednesday - February 5, a farmland information preservation discussion will be hosted by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service for landowners, local governments and non-profits interested in protecting their community's agricultural landsThis session will provide information to landoweners on farmsland pereseservation options including conservation easements, present use values, and Voluntary Agricultural Districts programs. 5-7 Southern Farm Show
The largest agriculture exposition in the Carolinas and Virginia. A major expansion onto the midway of the NC State Fairgrounds means even more equipment, experts and ideas. Filling the NC State Fairgrounds, the show features over 500 manufacturers with expert advice on the latest farm equipment, supplies and services. Events include the FFA tractor and truck driving competitions, Continuing Education Forums, Farm Show Ride & Drive, the annual meeting of the Tobacco Growers Association of NC, and the Southern National Draft Horse Pull (see weblink and separate listings below). 2020 NC Ag Development Forum
The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is hosting this event aimed at farmers and agribusinesses on Thursday - Feb. 6 in the Holshouser Building at the State Fairgrounds.
The 15th Annual Ag Development Forum will feature Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler's annual State of Agriculture address, an economic outlook, a discussion about North Carolina's changing population and demographics as it pertains to rural areas, and the need for broadband access in rural North Carolina. Featured speakers include:

  • Zippy Duvall, President of the American Farm Bureau Federation
  • Dr. Michael L. Walden, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor, North Carolina State University
  • Dr. Blake Brown, Hugh C. Kiger Professor, Agriculture and Resource Economics, North Carolina State University
  • Secretary James H. Trogdon, III, North Carolina Department of Transportation
  • Dr. Michael Cline, State Demographer, NC Office of State Budget and Management

7 Southern National Draft Horse Pull
Giant Percheron and Belgian Draft Horses from across the nation compete for prize money. Pre-show entertainment includes horse-drawn equipment demonstrations and Coon Mule Jump. Southeast’s largest outdoor show. Wake County Wildlife Club presents their 40th annual event designed to offer the latest in hunting equipment from more than 350 exhibitors. Seminars, displays, trophy scoring, and archery competition.
