Gov. James E. Holshouser Building

 

The Gov. James E. Holshouser Building was built in 1971 to serve the needs of the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Year-round the Holshouser Building hosts festivals, small conferences and trade shows, meetings, social events, and many other types of events.


Building Amenities

  • Completed in 1975, renovated in 1997
    This facility is mechanically heated, but is not air conditioned. Circular shape with windows around eave and exhaust fans assist with cross-ventilation. Floor fans are also available to assist with air circulation.
  • Seating: 900 for a banquet or 1,200 for a conference arrangement
  • Square footage: 13,600
  • Shape: circular - 66' radius (see building floor plan)
  • Ideal for exhibitions, small trade shows, meetings or conventions
  • Four entrances and restroom facilities
  • Support services, such as staging, tables, chairs, electrical hookups, etc., are available for an extra fee.
