Wildlife Resources

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s State Fair exhibit is located between the Old Farm Machinery Building and the Children's Barnyard, across from the Village of Yesteryear.

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s State Fair exhibit is located by the Children’s Barnyard across from the Village of Yesteryear, and we have an additional presence in Safety City!

This year’s exhibit has grown!  The agency exhibit will showcase some unique equipment that aid in the conservation of wildlife and habitat restoration with information on the many activities that rely on these tools to help meet the conservation needs.  As you stroll over to Safety City you can visit our Wildlife Law Enforcement Officers where you can pick up our 2020 and 2021 State Fair Buttons!

Come join the adventure with us and learn about our “on the ground and water” efforts supporting conservation and then join us in Safety City with our great Law Enforcement Officers and learn about their role in conservation!

This year’s State Fair wildlife button, a favorite collectible for fair attendees since 1981, will feature the walleye. The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily, except Thursday, Oct. 14, when the exhibit opens at 12 p.m.

All activities are free.
