Martin Building

The Gov. James G. Martin Building made its debut on October 6, 2006. The new building includes 60 total toilet fixtures plus showers, and a multi-purpose room to serve the needs of the N.C. State Fairgrounds and is available to rent during non-fair time. The facility features tile interiors, day-lighting and easy access. In addition the entire midway area located adjacent to the Martin Building has been improved with large landscape planters, city park style lighting, and underground water, sewer and electrical systems. Year-round the Martin Building hosts small business meetings, training, social events, small trade shows, and many other types of events.


Building Amenities

  • Completed in October 2006
  • Seating: 100 classroom, 160 for banquet seating or 200 for a conference arrangement
  • Square footage: 9,496 total (leased area includes 2,489 SF enclosed climate controlled area and 2,277 SF attached covered pavilion)
  • Shape: Enclosed space is approximately 59' x 39' plus a small alcove that includes refrigerator and sink area.
  • Ideal for exhibitions, small trade shows, meetings, training or social events
  • Three main entrances, plus caterer's entrance and extensive restroom facilities
  • Rental cost: $800 per day.
  • Additional support services, such as staging, additional tables, chairs, electrical hookups, etc., are available for an extra fee.
